Another method to Save is by going to the File menu and selecting Save.

Projects always get named with a descriptive name and suffixed with "v1". If I ever save out a copy, I'll increment it to v2, v3 etc. However it doesn't happen much. Auto save is set to every 10 min and I've got a good habit of hitting Ctrl S to save when I get to critical points.
