This simple solution of plugging in the cable to the lan port instead of the wan port fixed them now. I think my purpose may be different. I need a wireless bridge to create a wired network elsewhere in my home.

I tried these instructions, but this seems likes its wired bridge to create wireless network. You are commenting using your WordPress. You are commenting using your Google account. You are commenting using your Twitter account.

I noted in some of the various setups for the HotSpot software that it was asking for a gateway address for the LAN of the Router, which is not possible at least not that I can find anywhere?

Though I'm not sure that would work either. It's worth a try perhaps. Thanks for your answer, btw. I'm glad you could figure out what I was at least attempting to say. Message 5 of Is it not practical to set static IPs on the PCs or edit a 'hosts' file?

I already using a model with wireless router, i have a spare netgear WGR I want this router to pick up wireless signal from the first wireless router then share the internet on ethernet port only. Anyone has idea if this is possible. Have done some serach, cant find much info on this. Feb 16, 3, 2 21, But the first step is determining compatibility the dd-wrt database.

I just check that database, they have all the version from 3 - 9, but my WGR is V I guess im out of luck eh. Technically true, although the database isn't always up to date. Sometimes it's worth searching the dd-wrt forums. You'll probably find others who need the same thing. Not for the faint of heart, but it shows the lengths some ppl will go to to get dd-wrt support.

As you can imagine, a bit risky. But if you don't mind the potential bricking of the router, maybe worth considering.
